Beating the Cubs is easy
After yet another blowout win over the Chicago Cubs, the San Diego Padres are cruising.
Look, I want to be excited too. The Padres have scored 31 runs over their last two games. I want to come on here and brag about how great the offense is as they finish up at Wrigley Field and pack their bats for Coors Field.
But the truth of the matter is that the Chicago Cubs are a terrible team that doesn’t appear to be trying to win games. For two nights in a row now, the Cubs have had a lead in the middle innings until letting go of the rope and getting stomped by the Padres hitters.
As you would imagine, when the team scores 19 runs and wins by a billion, everyone had a good offensive night.
All 9 starting batters (plus Sergio Alcantara) got a hit, with 6 of them getting multiple hits.
All 9 starting batters (plus Sergio Alcantara) got an RBI, with 6 of them getting multiple RBIs.
All 9 starting batters scored a run, with 7 of them crossing the plate multiple times.
Everyone was good, nobody wad bad. I know that’s boring and not a strong take, but it is what it is sometimes.
